DELORIS GREEN(1931 - 2017)

July 17, 1931 - Nov. 30, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY Deloris Green passed peacefully from this life into the next on Nov. 30, 2017, after a long illness. She was born on July 17, 1931, in Sims, IL to Raymond and Leda (McGill) Linder. Deloris grew up on a farm in Southern Illinois during the Great Depression, where she learned the virtue of hard work. She graduated from Wayne City High School and Lockyear's Business College. She worked for Dowzer Electric Co. in Mount Vernon, IL, where she met and married her husband of 67 years, Lowell J. Green. Deloris was devoted to her family and was loved by all. She had a servant's heart and did many things for others, such as making quilts for the homeless. She was a competitive runner for many years and a member of the Oklahoma City Running Club. One of her finest accomplishments was her competing in the National Senior Games in 2009, where she won a silver medal in the 10k competition. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Herman Linder; and a son, Eric Green. She is survived by her husband, Lowell; daughter, Linda Henley; son, Darcy Green and wife Paula; daughter-in-law, Terry Green; grandchildren, Evan Henley, Rhys Henley and wife Tomoko, James Green and wife Berlin, Kayla Angeles and husband Gerardo, Terri Hays and husband Garrett, and Patricia Beedle and husband James; and several great-grandchildren. Viewing will be on Sunday, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. with family present 3-5 p.m. at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Monday, Dec. 4, 2 p.m. at Lutheran Church of our Savior with interment in Bethany Cemetery.
