GERALDINE BONEBRAKE Obituary
Hodges BonebrakeDec. 30, 1929 - Dec. 08, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY Jerri H. Bonebrake went to be with the Lord on December 8th, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 84. She was born December 30, 1929 to Richard C. Hodges and Ruth M. Vowell. Jerri graduated from Norman High School in 1948 and later from Hills Business College. She attended the University of Oklahoma focusing on Philosophy and received an Honorary Alumnus degree in 1985 through the College of Architecture. Her accomplishments include 36 years of dedication and support to the Mobile Meals Progam through her church at Village United Methodist where she has been a lifelong member. Jerri was dedicated to her UMC Women's groups where she served and volunteered in many capacities. She supported and volunteered at the Infant Crisis Center. She became the executive secretary to Bruce Goff in 1949. She was a consumate devotee to the life and legacy of Bruce Goff and frequently asked to share her knowledge of him and his work. Her passion to his work continued until her death. This journey introduced her to what became a new found love of creativity, art and music. In 2005 she received the American Institue of Architect, B.H. Prasad Honorary Award. She also served on the Board of Director's of Friends of Kebyar which promotes organic art and architecture. She married Robert "Bob" Bonebrake on June 13, 1959. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Jeff Bonebrake. Survivors include her brother-in-law, Randy Bonebrake and his children, Marcia Bonebrake of Midlothian, Texas, Cindy and husband Rick Mason of Edmond, OK, her niece, Fredonna Steely of Noble OK, as well as many other great nieces and nephews. She was loved by so many and will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested a memorial gift be made to: The Jerri H. Bonebrake Scholarship Fund at the University of Oklahoma College of Architecture, 830 Van Vleet Oval, Room #180, Norman, OK 73019. Services will be held at Village United Methodist Church, 2501 West Britton Road, Oklahoma City, OK, on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at 2pm. Visitation at Hahn-Cook Funeral Home at 6600 Broadway Extenstion in Oklahoma City.
