Ferguson May 15, 1939 - February 6, 2012 NORMAN Tommy Wade Ferguson, age 72, of Norman, OK, passed away February 6, 2012. He was born May 15, 1939, in Rush Springs, OK, to Emory Thomas & Luna Mae Ferguson. Tommy is survived by his wife of 19 years, Irene, of the home; 2 sons, Jerry Ferguson & wife Melanie of Owasso, OK & Joe Ferguson & wife Pam, of Norman; step-children, Kelly Rice & wife Liz of China & Kim McKee & husband Jeff of Norman; 11 grandchildren, Ryan Ferguson & wife Leslie of Bixby, Rachel Ferguson of Tulsa, Taylor Ferguson of Owasso & Parker Ferguson of Norman, Chelsea Reimche & husband Conrad, Norman, Hunter, Holden & Hayden McKee of Norman, Max, Beck & Jaxx Rice of China; 4 great-grandchildren, Maguire & Macallen Ferguson of Bixby, OK, Braxton & Jett Reimche of Norman; 1 brother, Wayne Ferguson & wife Cindy of Norman; 1 sister, June Ledbetter of Ozark, MO; & a host of other loving family members & friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. Tommy was an avid OU Football fan, and attended the games. He enjoyed building projects. Tommy built a few homes as well as other businesses including car dealerships. He also built 2 playhouses for his granddaughters, complete with electricity. Tommy enjoyed being at the lake house, and later enjoyed boating. He loved his dogs. He was crazy about his grandchildren, and was very involved in their lives. Tommy first started selling cars in 1964, at Morris Chevrolet, which is now Smicklas Chevrolet. He also worked for Gandara Buick from 1970 - 1974. Tommy purchased his first dealership in 1974, which was Payne Pontiac, and is now Ferguson Buick GMC. He currently owns 4 dealerships, and Motel 6, in Norman, which he built. Tommy helped get car dealerships started and helped put them in business all over the US. Services to honor Tommy's life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 10, 2012, at Emmaus Baptist Church, 16001 S. Western, OKC. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, in Norman. In lieu of flowers, please support a research, treatment and education fund for Pancreatic Cancer at the Stephenson Cancer Center.
