HOUSTON, TX


Charles "Chuck" Suttle died peacefully in his sleep at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, TX on Jan. 1, 2019, to be with his Lord and Savior. He was 91. Chuck was born in Wichita, KS to parents Charles Madison Suttle and Vida Alice (Baum) Suttle. Chuck graduated in 1944 from Central High School in Oklahoma City and attended The University of Oklahoma until joining the Navy in May 1945. After his discharge, he completed his civil engineering degree at OU in 1949 and joined the family construction business. After living briefly in Albuquerque, NM and Boulder, CO, the family moved to Houston, TX in 1976 and remained there until his death. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Metropolitan Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Chuck loved traveling to all 50 states and to many international destinations, golf, bridge, genealogy and enjoyed his family, including three great grandchildren.


Chuck married Agnes Faye (Dorse) Suttle on June 17, 1951. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Vida Suttle; and by Agnes, his loving and devoted wife of 67 years. Chuck is survived by his daughter, Susie and husband Tom Stalcup; daughter, Sandi and husband George Arnold; son, Scott; grandchildren, Matthew Stalcup and wife Kelli, Mark Stalcup and wife Katherine, Grant Suttle, and Allison Suttle; great grandchildren, Kayla, Parker, and Madeline; sister, Pat Gill; and a niece and nephew.


A Celebration of Life was held in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons in Houston, TX, where the Rev. Brad Goad officiated. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, where Dr. Rick Hermansen will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Winning Walk Ministry, c/o Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway, Houston, TX 77057; or to Metropolitan Baptist Church, 7201 W. Britton Rd., Oklahoma City, OK 73132.
