CHARLOTTE CHILCUTT Obituary
September 19, 1938 - January 10, 2019 EDMOND After a brief battle with cancer, Charlotte L Chilcutt passed away peacefully at her home Jan. 10, 2019, with her husband of over 60 years and her three children by her side. She was born to Lloyd and Louise Frazier in Coal Hill, AR and soon after, moved to Joplin, MO, where she spent most of her childhood. During high school, Charlotte would meet who would become her lifelong partner, Don Rodgers Chilcutt, and they married on July 4, 1958. Charlotte was an Executive Secretary in the banking and legal industries before the couple and two sons moved north in 1968 to Edina, MN, added a daughter and then in 1972, relocated to Oklahoma City and subsequently to Edmond, OK, where they settled to finish raising their family. After time as the Executive Secretary to the Director of the Cowboy Hall of Fame, she would join her husband Don to form Chilcutt Direct Marketing, which is still operating in the family some 38 years later. Charlotte was also known to those close to her as Chot, Mz Sharlet, or GranMom. She was able to travel to Germany, Australia and many ports between. Her love for the water would lead to nautical days on Lake Eufaula and cruising the Arkansas and Mississippi Rivers with family and lifelong friends. Those cruises would then turn to landlocked motor coaching with many of those close to her enjoying the beauty across this great country. Her appreciation of color and the many flowers they enjoyed caused Don and Charlotte to create a collection of canvas art of flowers, many of which she planted at her winter home in California and later in Arizona. Regardless of how long anyone knew her, they always came away with a unanimous agreement that she was a "real lady." Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; as well as brother, Jimmie; and sister, Maggie. She is survived by sister, Cathy Bittick; husband, Don Chilcutt; sons, Scott (Sara) Chilcutt and Matthew Chilcutt (Cynthia); daughter, Sarah (Greg) Beck; grandsons, Kris (Lauren) Chilcutt, Corey Chilcutt, Cole (Kamber) Beck, and Cade Beck; granddaughters, Hallie (Matt) Donovan, Chelsea Chilcutt, Mackenzie Bonny, and Sophia Carlin-Embree; great-grandsons, Michael Wright and Dean Donovan; sister-in-law, Barbara Chilcutt; nephews, Steve and Michael Murray and Brian and Darin Chilcutt; and nieces, Sharon Weldy, Marni Weldy Smith, Carmen Webb, and Jaime Frazier. The family would like to especially thank her Mercy Hospice nurse, Bobbie Nubine, and home health aide, Cynthia Tryon, for all their love and support. Viewing will be at Baggerley from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday with family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Services to Celebrate Charlotte's Life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Baggerley with entombment and a reception to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
