Dale LeRoy Magnus
May 21, 1927 - May 11, 2019

YUKON
Dale LeRoy Magnus, 91, servant of God and country, died on May 11, 2019, in Yukon, OK. He was born on May 21, 1927, in Belleville, KS to Alvin and Lillie Andrewson Magnus. He was a 1945 graduate of Brantford High School.
He entered the army on Aug. 18, 1945, and served during WWII, Korean, and Vietnam wars. He was very proud of his military service and retired after nearly 21 years May 31, 1966, with a
rank of captain. He graduated from Central State University in Edmond with a master's degree in education in 1972 and taught 4th and 6th grades for 17 years at Epperly Heights Elementary School in Del City. He retired from teaching in 1986.
He was devoted to his church, First Southern Baptist Church in Del City, serving as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and choir member. He loved traveling, reading, OU sports, and camping.
He was married to Bernice Foster July 23, 1949 to Aug. 28, 1954, and he is survived by their son, Daniel; and grandson, Jeffrey. He married Odessa Bennett April 4, 2008. He was married to the love of his life, Evelyn Marie Magnus, on Sept. 2, 1955, until her death Dec. 5, 2006, and is survived by their sons, David and wife Sherry, Doyle and wife Tonya, and Dwight and wife Diann; and by their grandchildren, Lauren and husband Steve Menard and
great-grandson, James Menard; Brian and wife Stephanie; Joel; Andrew; Makenzie; Malorie; and Elisabeth.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bedford; and sisters, Juliana and Leona; and is survived by his sister, Alvina.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Council Road Baptist Church in Bethany, OK. A Graveside Service will follow at the Kingfisher Cemetery. Visitation will be at Mercer-Adams on Tuesday, May 14, 1-8 p.m. with the family present 5-7 p.m.
