March 6, 1930 - Nov. 28, 2017 EDMOND Korean War Veteran Ernie was a gifted yet humble man who, despite a lengthy and accomplished career in television news, shied away from the spotlight. Rather than list his many accomplishments and career highlights, his family would like to remember the qualities that made him so extraordinary. He was married to his true love, Teddy, for 64 and a half years. He was a faithful and loving husband, provider and best friend. He was the proud father of Jack and Elizabeth, both of whom cherish a lifetime of memories of trips and time spent on projects with their dad. He was always ready to help them. Serving God and his family were his top priorities. He will be remembered by all who knew him as an example of honesty, integrity, responsibility, reliability, honor, humor, faith, optimism, gratitude, service to others and most of all, unconditional love. Ernie chose to donate his body to science and to forgo a funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his favorite charity, to which he donated countless hours of physical labor up until his death. Make checks payable to The Jude Ranch and send to P.O. Box 30021, Edmond, OK 73003-0021.
