1926 - 2017 Obituary Condolences
July 3, 1926 - Sept. 27, 2017 MOORE Eula "Audrey" Christ, 91, of Moore, OK, was born on July 3, 1926, to John Thomas and Jessie Pearl (Rouse) Saunders at Foster, OK. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, at the Featherstone Assisted Living Center. In hospice care for six months prior to her parting, Audrey passed peacefully in her sleep. She leaves two brothers, John Alger and Joe T. Saunders & wife Linda; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Audrey grew up on a farm in Garvin County in a small community of Foster, OK. She was the youngest of four girls. Her sisters, Irene Shirley, Faye Mitchell, and Bernice Bailey; and her parents have passed. Audrey married Conrad Christ on April 12, 1943. He passed away Dec. 31, 2003. They had one child, Johnny, who died at birth. Conrad worked in the oil field as a driller and moved from place to place. Audrey moved with him most of the time. However, in the '50s, Conrad went with an oil company to work in Cuba. Audrey stayed in Oklahoma. Later in Conrad's stay in Cuba, she took her dog and drove to Florida, then, took a boat to Cuba to join Conrad. She stayed about four months. This was during the Fidel Castro Cuban Revolution. Audrey told they had to leave quickly to get out before the doors closed in Cuba. Audrey & Conrad traveled for pleasure and visited all 50 states of America, including Alaska and Hawaii. In 1961, they built a house in Moore. Regina & Waymon Harrison moved in across the street the same day, 56 years as good neighbors and friends. Conrad worked for The Daily Oklahoman as a security guard and Audrey worked as a tour guide for The Oklahoman and Times. Audrey belonged to the Crossroads Cathedral since its inception. She donated her body to United Tissue Network.
