OKLAHOMA CITY
Freeman, lovingly known as Bud, passed away Feb. 8, 2019. The son of Freeman Taylor and Mildred Viola Walker, Bud was born Oct. 3, 1933, in Claremore, OK. After graduating high school, Bud honorably served his country in the United States Army. Afterwards, Bud met Nicole Biver, and they were married Sept. 23, 1961. Their union was blessed with a daughter, Veronique. Bud provided for his family by working as a self-employed oil-field specialist. When he wasn't working, Bud could be found enjoying hobbies such as doing crosswords and Sudoku puzzles, visiting with friends, and attending the horse races. He was active in the VA program and with the Miami Tribe. Bud started his religious journey in 1964 when he was saved and was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Fresno, CA. Bud was a family man who will be fondly remembered for his love of sports, especially KU, his intelligence, most notably in math, and his love for his family and friends, who will miss him deeply every day. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Muriel Tedder, Peggy Jo Walker, and Wanda Louise Walker; and brothers, John Virgil Walker and Anthony Walker. He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Nicole Walker; daughter, Veronique Walker; sisters, Ellen Kay Walcher, Elizabeth Devers, and Linda Donati; grandson, Julien Walker; and many other beloved extended family and friends. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church. Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Peoria Cemetery in Quapaw, OK. Friends may leave condolences for the family at vondelsmithmortuary.com
