George Wythe Munford, Jr. died May 16, 2019. He was born May 18, 1930, to Rose and Wythe Munford. A lifetime Nichols Hills resident, he attended Classen High School and The University of Oklahoma, where he became a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. In 1959, he founded the George Wythe Co., a Wholesale Hardware Distributor, and in 1969, added a Real Estate Division. After 27 years, he sold the Hardware Division, but continued as a Real Estate Broker. He was a very active volunteer, including serving on the Board of Directors of the Lyric Theatre and Log Cabin Republicans and was a member of the First Christian Church, where he had served as a Deacon and Chairman of the Board of Elders. He was a member of the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club and the Allied Arts Circle Club. He owned a home on Lake Eufaula, where he loved to entertain many friends. He is survived by his husband, Kent Campbell; and many friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lyric Theatre Endowment Fund, 1727 NW 16th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73106.
