MIDWEST CITY Hazel Louise Betts, best known for her role as devoted and adoring Grandma, departed for her greatest adventure on September 24, 2017. Born in Portland, Oregon on November 17, 1931, she became an Okie in 1959. Some have speculated that she secretly fell in love with Oklahoma, but Grandma-dukes would have never admitted it if she did. What we do know is that she loved her OU Sooners, the country's preeminent college football tradition. Grandma also loved a good swap-meet and found a "second home" at Mary's Swap Meet in Spencer. Although she was unable to visit as much as she wanted, she cherished all of the wonderful friendships she made.Grandma is survived by her two sons, Michael D. and William C. Betts; her grandsons, Michael A. and Joseph K. Betts; three beautiful great-grandsons, Milo, JoJo and Matthew; and a heap of adoring in-laws and friends. The whole gang will be celebrating her life between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on October 8, 2017, at Cloud Hooka Lounge & Bar, 3608 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
