1929 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Dec. 27, 1929 - May 13, 2018 MOORE Jackie Ray Northrip was born Dec. 27, 1929, near Canute, OK to Ivan & Clara Stephenson Northrip. At an early age, he accepted Jesus as his Savior and was a longtime member of the Moore First Baptist Church. On May 26, 1951, Jack married Velta Mullennix in Sayre, OK. They had three children. He graduated from Stafford High School, Sayre Junior College and earned a bachelor`s degree from Southwestern State College and a master's from The University of Oklahoma. Jack served in the United States Air Force. He taught General Science, Biology and Physics for 21 years in Oklahoma and New Mexico. For 15 years, he was a counselor with Voc-Rehab in Oklahoma. Jack drove a school bus in high school and was a substitute driver during his teaching years. Following his retirement from Voc-Rehab, he drove a school bus for six more years in OKC and Moore. During his retirement, he volunteered for Red Cross, Ronald McDonald House, Moore First Baptist Church Care Center and Meals on Wheels. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Ellen Marshall; and brother, Jimmie Dwight Northrip. He is survived by his wife, Velta Northrip; daughters, Donna Northrip and Denise Dunham; son, David Northrip; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Ann McKinney; numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, Amarillo, TX, or a . A Memorial Service for Jack will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Moore First Baptist Church, Moore, OK.
