MustainJan. 2, 1933 - July 30, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY On Sunday, July 30, 2017, Jimmie "J.D." Mustain, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and follower of Jesus Christ finished this leg of life's journey, and peacefully began his next. "The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord." ~ Job 1:21Jimmie known by most as "J.D." journeyed this earth for 84 years, 6 months, and 28 days and lived a good and faithful and full life.A native of Crescent, OK, he was one of seven children (Roy, Burrell, Pat, Betty, Jimmie, Beverly, and Danny) born to Roy Mustain and Dessie Kyle Mustain. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict as a U.S. Navy Seabee. His military service and skills prepared him for his lifelong career in the oilfield industry. J.D., known for his honesty and un-withering work ethic, was employed his entire career by only one company, Gerald M. Young Machine Company, beginning as an apprentice, and upon retirement leading the company's OKC operations. He was well known, liked, and a respected expert in his industry.He valued his faith and his family. He was a lifelong Baptist holding memberships at Grace Baptist Church in OKC and First Baptist Church of Bethany, serving in many key church roles. He was legendary for cross country road trips to be with his children and grandchildren for special events.He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mona Mustain, daughters, Gwen Douglas (Mike), Ramona Fletcher (Mike), Laura Mears (Kenny), Dee North (Thomas) and son, Jim Mustain (Sharon). Additionally, sister, Beverly Garrison, sister-in-law, Joann Mustain, twelve grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, at the Guardian Funeral Homes - West Chapel in Warr Acres, OK, with son Reverend Jim Mustain officiating. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 4, at the same location. Memorial donations in memory of J.D. can be made to: Loving Community, 367 Dublin St., Lewisville, TX 75067.
