Kenneth W. Bales
November 20, 1935-February 2, 2019

Kenneth Warren Bales was born November 20, 1935, in Yukon, OK to John Ervin and Dorothy Louise (Brooks) Bales. Kenneth attended school at Prairie Queen and graduated from Mustang High School in 1953, Oklahoma State University with Bachelor's degree in Animal Husbandry then a Master's degree in Ag Education. In 1957 he married Mary Louise Myers and they made their home in Yukon, OK. In 1970 they moved to Mustang where they made their home on the family farm west of town. Kenneth loved farming and raising wheat and Hereford cattle with his dad and son Brian. He also enjoyed going to wrestling matches at OSU every chance he could. Kenneth was active with Farm Bureau for more than 50 years and served on the County Board. He spent many years supporting the community, serving on the Friends of the Library Board, Mustang Cemetery Board, the Mustang Historical Society, and a member of Chisholm Heights Baptist Church. Kenneth served in the OK Air National Guard. Later in life Kenneth's passion was spending time with family, especially the grandkids and great-grandkids.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents J.E. and Dorothy Bales, wife Mary, and one great granddaughter Chloe Sides. He is survived by his daughter Lisa and husband Gary Jones of Mustang, son Brian and wife Tammy Bales of Mustang, five grandchildren Terrah Sides and husband Carson of Cheyenne, OK, Lacey Dawson and husband Ryan of Union City, OK, Lindsey Breeding and husband Greg of Fort Gibson, OK, Carissa Jones of Mustang, OK and Josh Jones and wife Chelsea of Union City, OK, six great grandchildren, Rustin Dawson, Haiden Sides, Carter Pittman, Ryler Dawson, Finnick Jones, Clarabeth Jones, and a bonus great granddaughter Kamber McGregor.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church, Mustang, OK with interment following in the Mustang Cemetery.
