1947 - 2019 Obituary Condolences
December 25, 1947 - January 2, 2019 MOORE Linda Sue Harmon spent most of her time inspiring happiness, which was evident by her never turning down a dance, sharing a memory with friends or gathering her family to enjoy special moments. At 71-years-old, Linda died on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, passing peacefully in her home, surrounded by family and the love she created. She had a vigilant, but brief battle with stage four lung cancer that spread throughout her body. Her strong will to live, faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends and many supporters carried her through a few weeks of treatment until she succumbed to her illness. A Christmas baby, Linda was born on Dec. 25, 1947, in Lawton, OK to mother Betty Kuykendall and adoptive father H.P. "Kirk" Kuykendall, both deceased. She was the oldest of two children, who along with her brother, Paul Kuykendall, living in Owasso, co-owned the family's emergency medical service, Kirk's EMS of Lawton, and real estate company. Linda was known for her ease in frequent conversation with even total strangers. As a child, she possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life, she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who are changed forever by her nurturing love and faith. Her gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter and joking, will never be forgotten. Late in life, her days were filled with freedom to do what she cherished. Linda enjoyed impromptu shopping sprees with her best friend, Mary Potvin; traveling with her girls; "junking" with her favorite friends and spending time devoted to her fur-baby, Harley. After graduating from Eisenhower High School and working in her parents' business, she met Jerry Atkinson, with whom she bore two daughters, Jeri Richardson and Jodie Edgemon. Several years later, Linda remarried and bore her third daughter, Jackie McDonald, with husband, Frank Foreman. Linda is survived by her daughters and seven grandchildren - Kayla Edgemon, Austin Edgemon, Bailey Edgemon, Tristan Mautz, Micah Stanley, Avery Richardson, and Rylee Richardson; and her three great-grandchildren - Clarissa, Laina, and Hunter Blodgett. Linda's nurturing nature allowed her to expand her family - her "adopted children" she lovingly called all them. She secretly always wanted a son, and was blessed with two amazing sons-in-law, Trey Richardson and James McDonald, whom she adored. In addition, her "other children" included Greg Krauter, Karie Lardon, Amy and Garry Milchesky, and Sara Moody. There are so many more beloved people who came and went throughout her life whom she never stopped loving and always considered them part of her family. We invite all who loved her to join us in a celebration of her wonderful life on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2-5 p.m. at Rococo Restaurant, 12252 North May Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73120. Please feel free to come and go as necessary.
