Maria Teresa Lake

1949 - 2019 Obituary Condolences

Maria Teresa Lake

February 17, 1949-January 30, 2019

OKLAHOMA CITY

Maria Teresa White Lake (aka Terry) passed from this life to Heaven after a long battle with congestive heart failure on Wednesday night at 10:00 PM. Terry was born in Novara, Ita

ly on 17 February 1949. She grew up in Novara and graduated from Catholic High School there. Terry came to the United States when she was 18 and learned English on her own. She gave her heart to the Lord in 1971. Terry wrote in her Bible these words after her salvation, "Glory be to God! Thank you, Jesus! Praise the name of the Lord, Hallelujah!!! I was saved Thurs. May the 27th 1971 by the grace of the Lord." Terry worked for the Lord in various churches blessing people, in church missions and street ministries over the years. Terry married Joe Lake on 17 January 1997 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Terry & Joe came back to Oklahoma City and had a second wedding ceremony (same clothes, etc.) at God's Corner, a church mission/half-way house for drug and alcoholic offenders out of prison - recovering/starting a new life. Pastors Terry & Cindy Jones married Terry & Joe a second time at God's Corner in Oklahoma City. On November 7, 2004, in Midwest City, Terry was ordained a non-denominational Independent Assembly of God Missionary evangelist by Dr. Ira Wildsmith. Terry and Joe had many happy years traveling serving the Lord. Terry & Joe made many mission trips to Novara, Italy to minister at the spirit-filled church of Pastors Filippo & Rosa Cuffaro in Paruzzaro, Italy. Many people were blessed in Italy by these mission trips. On one particular trip to Italy, Terry laid her hands on a lady who could not see and prayed in the spirit (tongues) and the Lord worked through Terry and this Italian lady recovered her sight. Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Enrica and Bruno Capobussi of Novara, Italy. She is survived by her husband, Joe, of the home; and one son, Paul Jason White, of Quinlan, Texas; and two granddaughters, Leslie & Lindsay White, of Quinlan, Texas. Terry also has a cousin in Novara, Italy, Michaela Griggi. Terry's kind Christian spirit and her Christian ministry will be greatly missed. In 2 Peter 12:19, the Bible reads, "And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it; as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts." Two other favorite scriptures of Terry's were 2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound and calm mind," and James 5:16 - "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Terry may be made to the Canadian County Cowboy Church Missions, PO Box 34, Union City, OK 73090. Terry's spirit is in Heaven now, at peace, rejoicing in the Lord, happy and well! Funeral Services to celebrate Terry's life were held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 4, 2019, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, located at 120 South Broadway, Moore, OK. Interment followed at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, in Newalla, OK. Services were under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore, OK.
