MARY LEYBA Obituary
Jan. 9, 1959 - Oct. 3, 2018 CHOCTAW Our beloved angel, Mary Lynn Leyba, went to be with Our Lord and Savior Oct. 3, 2018. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Salome Ramon Leyba; parents, Hoyt Hilton & Mary Patricia Wood; and her grandparents, Mary Madge & Joseph Jordan and Winifred & Ray Bell. She is survived by her children, Patricia Marie Thompson, Salome Ramon Leyba, Jr, and Kristy Ramona Leyba, all of Choctaw. She leaves behind her brother, Joseph Hilton Wood, of Norman; and sister, Amy Lee Wood, of Yukon. Mary is also survived by five grandsons, who absolutely thought she hung the moon, including, Braeden Leyba, Gavin Leyba, Greysen Leyba, Easton Leyba, and Jacksen Thompson; as well as her aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law who meant so much to her. Mary graduated Midwest City High School, where she made lasting friendships that followed her throughout the years. She enjoyed her church choir for many years. Her passions in life were gardening and bringing family together with her cooking. She truly adored spending time with her grandbabies more than anything. Mary was always on the go, traveling with her children, seeing new things, revisiting old things. She was active clear up until the time she became too weak to participate. She had a strong will and a contagious zest for life like no other. Mary's favorite color was purple and she loved butterflies so much that it was a theme in her home and her life. Mary passed away from complications of pancreatic cancer that had metastasized after several rounds of chemotherapy. Many of Mary's friends, neighbors, and family were there to visit her on a daily basis, but she waited until it was just her children by her side to finally let go to be with Jesus. There will be a Viewing 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018, and Funeral Services will be held Monday, Oct. 8 at 2:30 p.m. at Hibbs Funeral Home, 2190 Harper St., Choctaw, OK 73020. Burial services will follow at Brown Cemetery, Hwy 9, Tecumseh, OK 74873. In lieu of flowers, we are asking that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
