NOAH VANCE Jr. Obituary
June 11, 1930 - Nov. 2, 2018 DEL CITY Noah Frederick "Fred" Vance, Jr., age 88, passed away on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018. He was born on June 11, 1930, in Independence, KS to Noah Frederick & Thelma (Erwin) Vance. He joined the Army Air Corps at the age of 16 and later transitioned to the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for 26 years, achieving the rank of chief master sergeant, and received the USAF Commendation Medal, along with many other awards. He married the love of his life, Judy, on Oct. 31, 1952, and together, they began their lifelong journey around the world complements of the military. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Judy; parents; son, Todd Alan Vance; siblings, Virginia Beatt, Jackie Vance, and Robert Green, and his precious pets, Laika, Kai, and Piper. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed playing cribbage, loved music and dancing, was a bit of a humorist, and adored nature of every kind, particularly beautiful sunsets. He loved to "tinker" with things and make or fix things. He also liked to write random things about pretty much anything. Survivors include his sister, Bess Clark; brother, Johnny Vance; children, Kevin Vance and Joni Wageck & husband Roger; grandchildren, Courtney Brooke Atchley & husband Derek, Adam Todd Swain & wife Stephanie, Kayla Dawn Donner, and Nathaniel Richard Donner; great-grandchildren, Kyle Nathaniel Swain, Noah Chance Atchley, and Kynlee Jade Swain. Last, but certainly not least, is his precious little dog, Dancer, who kept him company and brought joy into his life when his beloved bride passed away. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Interment will follow at the Sunny Lane Cemetery.
