Dec. 10, 1920 - Aug. 9, 2018 OKLAHOMA CITY Nola "Gayle" Hoberecht, 97, passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. Gayle was born on Dec. 10, 1920, in Gravette, AR to William and Mabel Gayer. She and her four older sisters were preachers' kids. Her father was a Methodist minister throughout the state of Oklahoma. She graduated from Fletcher High School and attended college at Central State College in Edmond. Gayle married Jack H. Hoberecht in 1939 and they established their life together in Oklahoma City. Gayle loved gardening with beautiful roses. She enjoyed work in her church and volunteered for over 20 years at Deaconess Hospital. Gayle was a past president of the Banker's Wives of the Liberty National Bank. Her special talent was her painting, and she donated many works to charity causes. Gayle's special gift was her love of family and friends. Gayle was a member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church. Gayle was preceded in death by her mother; father; husband; and four sisters, Connie, Grovene, Naomi, and Aurella. She is survived by two children, Jan, of Newton, KS; and Jay, of Enid, OK; two grandchildren, Brian & Tara Hoberecht, of Kilgore, TX; and Alyson Hoberecht, of Huntington Beach, CA; her five great-grandchildren, Alyx, Brendon, and Isaac Hoberecht, of Carl Junction, MO; and Sloan and Payton Berger, of Kilgore, TX; three nieces, Shari & husband Jerry Long, of Enid, OK; Carolyn & husband Bruce Brantly, of Oklahoma City; and Samalyn Cudek-Dougherty, of Tulsa, OK. Services will be held at the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 2604 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, on Monday, Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. Viewing will be on Sunday, 2-5 p.m. at Mercer-Adams.
