1936 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
Nov. 15, 1936 - Dec. 8, 2018 OKLAHOMA CITY Phyllis Jean Harrel Narcomey, 82, of Oklahoma City, has joined our Creator on December 8th, 2018 at OU Edmond Hospital in Edmond, Oklahoma. Her life started November 15th, 1936 in Wichita, Kansas, the youngest of four children born to Donald Frances Harrel and Helen May Lunt Harrel. The daughter of a Methodist minister, Phyllis spent her childhood in Lawton and Oklahoma City. After graduating Northeast High School in Oklahoma City (1954) where she met and later married the father of her children, Harold "Redman" Narcomey (1956), Phyllis received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education (1967) and a Master of Education Degree (1971) both from Central State University in Edmond. She was a Special Education Teacher, a Counselor and an Administrator within the Oklahoma City Public Schools system before becoming an independent insurance agent and office manager. Although Phyllis considered herself a rebellious preacher's kid growing up doing the opposite of what her dad wanted her to do she found a renewed spirituality in the fall of 1993 when she gave God the power in her life and committed her life to a spiritual and physical recovery and ministered to countless others to do the same. She served as Care Chaplain at the Church of the Servant, volunteered with the Kairos Prison Ministry at Mabel Bassett Correction Facility and volunteered on two construction mission trips to Cape Town, South Africa and Chugiak, Alaska. She has been a member of The Church of the Servant since 1993 and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.Preceded in death by her parents Donald and Helen Harrel and brothers Frances Leon Harrel and Donald Merle Harrel.
