Raymond Charles "R.C." Cunningham II Obituary
March 22, 1927 - Aug. 8, 2018 OKLAHOMA CITY Raymond Charles Cunningham II, known as R.C., went to be with the Lord Aug. 8, 2018. He was born in Oklahoma City March 22, 1927, to Margaret & Raymond Cunningham. R.C. attended Classen, and graduated from Kemper High School. He went on to serve our country in the U.S. Navy, and following his service, he graduated from OU. R.C. has been instrumental in numerous construction and entrepreneurial businesses, activities and organizations throughout his life. He was responsible for constructing many buildings for the University, including Lloyd Noble Center, the Physical Science Tower, and other notable buildings across the state. He loved playing tennis and remained active in this sport until he was 88 years of age. He enjoyed flying his plane, traveling the world and being an active YPO member. R.C. was eternally passionate about helping others, which led to the creation and success of Miraflex. R.C. will be remembered for his loveable orneriness and considerate nature of others. The family extends much love and thanks to R.C.'s loyal "secretary" of 21 years, Kathy, for going above and beyond to help him. They also want those at Parkway and Classen Grill to know he was always very appreciative of them for taking care of his needs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Margaret; and also by his best friend of 22 years, Emily Jones. R.C. is survived by his sister, Margaret Dozier; children, Melissa Ward and her husband Kent, Tripp Cunningham and his wife Jane, Drew Cunningham Bowers, Leslie Palmquist, and Sherrie Cooper; grandchildren, Lilly Cunningham, Jay and Maggie Fletcher, Lauren and Cody Cooper, and Laura and Justin Palmquist; nephews, Bill and Ray Dozier; as well as his numerous extended family and constant pet companion, Vinnie. Services to Celebrate R.C.'s Life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at the Chapel of Crossings Community Church. Those wishing to honor his memory may do so by helping themselves with any aches and pains by using Miraflex. Contributions may also be sent to Crossings Community Church or to Stephenson Cancer Center.
