Oct. 14, 1938 - Dec. 16, 2018 OKLAHOMA CITY Rex Arnold Reynolds, age 80, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, after a short illness. Rex is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy Kee Reynolds; two stepdaughters, Paula Gordon (Don) and Renee Butler (James); stepson, Kenneth Walters; one brother, Rodney W. Reynolds (Judy); two sisters, Theo Dora Johnson (Douglas) and Judy Kay Higgins; two brothers-in-law, Jim Kee (Judy) and Danny Kee (Carla); as well as two step-grandsons, David Smith and Billy Burke; one step- granddaughter, Haley Walters; two step-great-grandsons, one step-great-granddaughter, multiple nieces and nephews, and other family and friends. Rex was born in Oklahoma City on Oct. 14, 1938, to Delos G. "Duke" and Enid A. Reynolds. He spent his early years in northwest Oklahoma living close to extended family. In 1950, the family moved to Del City, OK, where Rex attended junior high and high school. He attended college at OU and Central State College in Edmond, OK before being drafted into the Army in 1961. After leaving the Army in 1963, Rex continued his education and taught a night class at OSU in Oklahoma City on computer programming. He and his wife, Kathy, did computer consulting for several years before going to work as contractors for Hewitt in Chicago, IL, where they became permanent employees and eventually, retirees. Rex was a member of the Junior League Jaycees in Oklahoma City. Rex was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ray Reynolds. A Memorial Service will be held on Jan. 26, 2019, at 2 p.m. in Oklahoma City at the Hilton Garden Inn OKC North Quail Springs, 3201 NW 137th St. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you make a donation to the or to the in Rex's memory.
