1926 - 2019
Dec. 12, 1926 - Jan. 10, 2019 EDMOND Marie Daggs entered into eternal rest, surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born Dec. 12, 1926, in Sand Springs, OK to Merritt & Margaret McPeak. She was the oldest of five siblings who were raised on the family farm. After graduating Meridian High School, Marie moved to Oklahoma City to work at Bell Telephone Co. Her friend and coworker, Dorothy Daggs, introduced her to George Daggs when he returned home from WWII. George and Marie married Nov. 27, 1946, and were blessed with four sons. Marie was a longtime member of Waterloo Road Baptist Church and would provide rides to church and Bible studies for her elderly lady friends. Marie loved her family, but most of all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Daggs; son, Geary; her parents; as well as two sisters and their husbands, Ruth Starks (Archie) and Joann Miller (Leroy). She is survived by her sons, Merritt & wife Veronica, Van & wife Marsha, and Steve & wife Kit; her brother, James McPeak (Carol); sister, Teresa West (John); many grandchildren and more great-grandchildren than we can count. The family would like to thank the caring professionals of Village at Oakwood for their outstanding service to Marie. A Celebration of Life and Funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2019, at Sunny Lane Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. prior to service.
